you can run CA hwy 4 out of Stockton until it slams into I-680/CA 242…take that South to CA hwy 24 west to CA hwy 13 South…which runs into Hayward…try that, it goes a little more north, but I dunno about the traffic, you might run into that any way you go. You can also try CA hwy 84 which is more direct
