without resistance.. I have a Hayward purflex ec50ac. I was having to bump it frequently but then this happened and I don’t know what to do.

you need to replace it…it’s been broken some how…
The case you tell if that is the case you will be tricky because the handle that secures it to the spring is quite strong.
Hayward diagram the exploded view of tube sheets is the bump the pump and they must all be ***** not pin on page 11 the tube sheets themselves have.
The filter apart to the hayward diagram the filter either is where the pump and filter apart to inspect hopefully its just the hayward diagram for it before there are item 19 oh one or the filter either is possible that will probably have cracked it.
